Canon U.S.A. is unveiling a new flagship Power-Shot G-series model. The G1X (shipping in February at a $799 suggested retail) will be positioned for advanced amateurs and professionals looking for a walk-around point-and-shoot model and offers a large 1.5-inch 14.3-mega-pixel CMOS image sensor and a 4x (28-112mm) optical zoom lens.
It is said to have a shallow depth of field and an aperture range of F/2.5-16 affording better low-light capability.
Other new features include 14-bit RAW file support, a new DIGIC 5 image processor with improved low-light support, high-speed burst HQ shooting of up to 6fps/4.5 fps at full resolution, multi-area white balance adjustment, expanded Smart Auto settings, child-weighted face detection system, handheld night scene and HDR mode. It will shoot up to FullHD 1080 video and includes a 720p Movie Digest mode to automatically compile a video log of all still shots.

I finally gave in and purchased an upgrade to Captivate 5.5. I currently have Adobe eLearning Suite 1 which includes Captivate 4, and figured I could purchase the upgrade for just the Captivate program...... WRONG
When I tried to activate the software, the installer accepted the software code correctly, but was unable to detect the installed Captivate 4. The installer was only looking a single copy of Captivate 4, not the suite package.
After a 20 minute chat with the friendly Adobe support person in India, I was very politely told you cannot upgrade a single program in a software suite with a single program upgrade.... I could have sworn you used to be able to do this.
Luckily the support person was able to remotely unlock the Captivate 5.5 and allow it to work correctly.

My fun Adobe software experience continued yesterday, as I fell into another Adobe trap….

I finally gave in and purchased an upgrade to Captivate 5.5. Doesn't matter. ARR photos on Flickr are free game to anyone on Tumblr.
My proof is here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/suomynona/5900859927/ and http://pouryourheartintoit.tumblr.com/ in case one site or the other takes issue with my accusations.
That, and many local Seattle sites/publications thought I wouldn't find out that they were using my photos without my approval or providing credit.
Someone that was once very generous has turned into a NO person.

This has happened so much with my Flickr account lately — even though over 3 months ago I opted out of 3rd party search engines (Google, Bing, Yahoo) and their API.
