About Carl Chapman
I am an underwater and technology photographer based in Port Douglas, Queensland, Australia.
With the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest at my doorstep, I enjoy the rich vibrant colours of the tropical north, and dive regularly to expand my underwater photography collection.
I provide image and video stock licensing and photography for advertising, graphic design, editorial and corporate clients.
My images have been used by Australian Geographic, Travel and Leisure, Discovery Channel, IBM, Ericsson, Akamai, and various magazines, scientific organizations, universities and advertising agencies.
Background
With a Bachelor of Engineering (Electronics and Computer Systems), I started taking photographs in 1993/1994 while backpacking through South East Asia and the UK.
South East Asia was also my introduction to scuba diving. I become a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer whilst travelling around the US in 1998, and currently hold Scuba Instructor speciality ratings for:- Digital Underwater Photography, Enriched Air, Underwater Navigator, Underwater Naturalist, Search and Recovery, Wreck Diver, Deep Diver, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Project Aware, and Aware Coral Reef Conservation.
I also have 20 years experience providing innovative solutions to a variety of international corporations, telecom operators and government organizations in the fields of :-
